How You & Your Dog Can Become a
Paws to Read Team

Can you and your pet help a child learn to read? Can you find an hour or so a week to visit one of Flagstaff’s schools? Then consider getting involved as a Delta Society Pet Partner. You’ll receive some training for the special skills and tools that you’ll need to work effectively with students. When you register as a Pet Partner, you get an identification badge, a tag for your pet, primary liability insurance ($1 million), and more. Registration lasts 2 years. To qualify, your dog must be at least 1 year old, well socialized, and registered by the Delta Society (unless he is a service dog or a service dog in training). The Delta certification requires a physical examination by a veterinarian and proof of the dog’s vaccinations and fecal test.
