Lynn Stringer and Rohan
Rohan (Retriever of Rohan) is a 3-year-old Golden Retriever who loves to be petted, play ball, and eat, not necessarily in that order. He was named for characters in the Lord of the Rings trilogy (the Riders of Rohan), so he discovered his love for reading at an early age. He has always been such a gentle dog that he got his Canine Good Citizens certificate when he was just 18 months old, and he became Delta Registered this spring. He competes in agility and does very well because he is really consistent. He always tries hard to understand what you want and to do it. This summer he went to the library and read with children, and he can’t wait to start going to a school this fall.
Bob Belton and Thylo
Hello, my name is Thylo (Spicerack Thylo). I am a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I am 3 years old and have had several lessons in obedience. I also like agility (going over a course of obstacles such as jumps and tunnels). I have also passed my test for Canine Good Citizen and Delta Society. By passing the Delta Society test, I am able to visit patients in the hospital. I especially like to visit the children’s rooms. I am always looking for new things to do so I would like to try Paws to Read and I would like to have you read to me. That way I can make new friends.
Nancy Sullivan and Baxter Black
Baxter Black is a 12-year old black Pug who has recently become hard of hearing, but still loves to be with children and loves to be read to! Baxter has always been a very athletic and wild Pug until recently. He is now finally settling down (a little) and learning to “take it easy.” He still loves to hike in the woods with his moms and with his own two kids — a fourth grader and a first grader at Switzer Mesa Montessori. Baxter Black lives with three other Pugs, a calico cat, and a Betta fish. Nancy is the Flagstaff coordinator for Pug rescue.
