Laura Howe and Lucia

LuciaLucia is a smiley Golden Retriever who loves all people. Her fur is extra soft, silky, and fluffy, and she loves to cuddle. She will snuggle up to anyone that reads to her. Besides being read to and cuddled, Lucia loves to play fetch with a tennis ball at the park, or in the water, she loves to swim, go for long hikes and meet new people. Lucia loves to eat too, especially most fruit and vegetable treats she can get her paws on. Lucia participates in the summer library reading program.

Pam Lasher and Kayenta

KayentaYou might recognize Kayenta, having been previously owned by Ann Leighton, who took her to the library to read in the summer library program in 2008. Ann picked her up as an abandoned puppy on the reservation. Sadly, Ann died last October and Kayenta came to live with me. We bonded right away having both lost our moms in the same month! Kayenta fit in very well with Francis and “got used to” the cats. We passed the Delta certification test together in May. She is currently having a great time reading with the kids where I teach at Christensen School, and participating with her dad in agility classes. I particularly love how she wiggles her whole rear end when I come home!

Liz Tallman and Rose

RoseRose is an 8-year-old Basset Hound who has been a therapy dog for almost 4 years. She loves to go to the hospital to visit patients (and nurses), but she also loves to listen to children read at the summer library program. Rose is a very nice dog who understands what people want from her, whether it’s to sit quietly, roll over for tummy rubs, or show off her tricks. I’m glad she’s a part of my life and I hope you get to meet her sometime.
