Gail Houck and Toby

TobyHello, my name is Master Tobias. My friends call me Toby. I’m almost 5 years old and I am one lucky dog. Mom and I go to Killip Elementary School. First graders come and read to me there. Sometimes the boys and girls pet me while they are reading. Lots of times they show me the pictures, too. They even wrote a book about me. First grade is fun. I get LOTS of hugs there.

Amy Sessions and Sophie

SophieSophie Doo is a 9-year-old yellow Lab. She enjoys swimming, retrieving, hiking, and curling up with a good book and a friend. She is very softhearted and knows who needs her caring attention most in a crowd. She is exceedingly patient and always kind, but has been known to paw at pages from time to time pointing out pictures. We are enjoying our first assignment at Kinsey Elementary working with first and second graders.

Pam Lasher and Francis

FrancisThe first time I saw Francis, he was sitting as far back in the corner of his kennel as he could get. He looked extremely frightened and sad. A rescue agency in Phoenix had put him up for adoption at Petsmart. I learned that he was found wandering around in Texas and could have been an abandoned “Katrina” dog. I named him after my favorite saint, and the rest is history! Slowly, Francis and I became very close, going through both individual and class training. He is still quite skittish around strangers, but really comes to life when we read with the kids at the library and Christensen School!
